Acoustic Shockwave Therapy in Denver
Living with stubborn heel, elbow, or knee pain can make even simple daily tasks exhausting. When rest, medication, or basic chiropractic care have not been enough, it’s easy to worry that surgery or long-term drugs are your only options. At Little Mountain Chiropractic & Wellness, Dr. Coleman Pannell offers Acoustic Shockwave Therapy (also called ESWT) as a noninvasive way to help your body repair damaged tissue.
This advanced technology is particularly helpful for active adults and patients with long-standing soft-tissue injuries. Our goal is simple: help you move with less pain so you can get back to the life you enjoy.
How Acoustic Shockwave Therapy Helps Your Body Heal
Acoustic Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic waves generated in water within the machine and directs them to the exact area of pain. These sound waves stimulate your own stem cells, improve blood flow, and support regenerative healing instead of just masking symptoms. ESWT also helps break down calcifications, calm inflammation and swelling, and repair injured tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue.
The sessions are noninvasive, have no downtime, and there are no known adverse side effects. Because our practice invests in medical-grade shockwave equipment, you receive focused, outcome-driven care.
Conditions That Can Be Addressed
Shockwave therapy is especially effective for chronic soft tissue pain that has not responded well to other care. Common conditions we treat include:
- Plantar fasciitis and stubborn heel pain
- Achilles tendonitis and other ankle tendon problems
- Golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, and general elbow tendonitis
- Jumper’s knee and other knee tendon issues
- Difficult or slow-healing wounds and other localized soft tissue injuries
What to Expect During Your ESWT Sessions
Your care starts with a consultation and exam so Dr. Pannell can pinpoint the source of your pain and design a focused plan. Individual sessions are usually 5 to 15 minutes, and you will feel a tapping or pulsing sensation over the treatment area. Many patients feel a noticeable change after the first visit, with results building over several sessions. There is no downtime, but ESWT is not recommended if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, cancer or tumors, an infectious disease, severe clotting problems, or have had a cortisone shot in the area within the last six weeks.
